trophy tower
Written by Muriel and Emily T.
CHALLENGE: To use straws and Duck tape to build a tower that will hold a tennis ball. Also, the tennis ball had to be lifted at least eight inches above the ground.
what worked 1. A strong supporting base
2.. Not to much weight on the top but some on the bottom of the tower 3. A space for the tennis ball to rest almost like a basket type thing 4. Sketching out your idea for the tower, brainstorming and talking about the idea 5. Equal weight on each side 6. Stabilized straws |
What didn't work1. A flimsy base that did not support the ball or the top of the tower
2. To much weight on the top and little weight on the bottom on the tower 3. An unsupported basket/nest for the tennis ball |
What we learned
We learned about the importance of having a strong base and a balanced tower.
